Let it rain and other gardening wishes

It was a cold and rainy day, and I couldn’t be happier. We desperately need the moisture to germinate the newly planted seeds… plus, it wasn’t snow. About half of my gardens are planted. The corn, beans, peppers, squash and such will go in within the next week or so. Plus, we need to put out everything for the charitable plots and organize our volunteers – it’s going to be a crazy couple of weeks.
I’m writing about gardening basics for all of the newbies out there. I talked to three fabulous home gardeners who shared their tips for growing successful veggies in our sometimes challenging climate. Plus, I have a lead on a laser fence to keep out Bambi – can’t wait to follow up on that one for a piece on pest management. Using the “Gophernator” is still high on my to-do list.
